    Description

You get the exact Sand Dollar Fossil Specimen shown.
It dates back to the Early Pliocene Era.
Part of the Etchegoin Formation, it comes from California's Central Valley (lower half of the San Joaquin Valley) and is related to Starfish.
It is 100% natural and not modified.
Un-fossilized specimens that wash up onto the beach don't show the plate boundaries. Usually, they end up being artificially stained to make the plate boundaries stand out.
This specimen is NOT that type. The lines are not delineated in a lab.
The delineation in this specimen occurred in nature by petroleum deposits.
    It measures 1.40" x 1.28" x .30" (35.56 mm x 32.51 mm x 7.62 mm) and weighs 7 gr.
Please see the photo with the quarter for a size comparison.

I am a licensed importer & wholesaler. I buy directly from the mine.....this means a lot. For one, it eliminates the middle-man, I buy for less and sell for less. Additionally, having contacts around the world, I have access to virtually anything in the world of minerals and semi-precious stones. (Looking for something unusual? Let me know.) But most of all it lets me know who I'm doing business with.
Why would I want to know these people.......?
Ethical sourcing is becoming a thing. I'm not being negative towards anybody - anywhere, but let's face it, the great majority of the world's mines are in less-than-developed areas. Some of these areas have zero child labor laws, or any labor laws for that matter. The mining of some of these rocks/crystals is hard, back-breaking work. Combine a very young & hungry work force with certain less-than-scrupulous mine owners and bad things are bound to happen.
Fortunately, these individuals are the exception and not the rule. The names are out there and easy to identify for those of us in the business.
I promise to deal only with legitimate, conscientious mine owners and sell only ethically sourced items.
    There's
one more benefit to buying directly from the mine: Once the crystals come out of the mine they come "as-is" straight to me. I separate, clean, rinse, weigh and identify them for sale. This means nobody has repaired or altered them in anyway. This allows me to provide pure crystals as they were found in nature.
    I
have many years in brick & mortar and Internet sales. I've been supplying retail shops for many years as well. Now I've discovered an opportunity to pass on my experience and supply unique items, at a very good value, to customers I was never able to reach in the past.
Please come back often. I'm going to be adding a lot of various crystals, rough & tumbled stones, specimens and some jewelry.
    Thank You,
    Joe
