    Lapidary Quality Polished Petrified Wood Slab (Araucaria (conifer) - Location: Madagascar. Here we have a polished (on one side) lapidary grade petrified wood slab from Madagascar. It is an Araucaria (conifer) from the Triassic period. The slab section shows great detail and looks just like it did when the piece was still part of a 'living' tree. This makes a great display specimen (my own personal preference) however; this piece also has potential for lapidary purposes (wood be very attractive as a pendant).
