For sale is one Greentown Glass Hen on Nest Candy Dish. It has some damage to it. The beak is chipped as seen in pictures. There is some chipping on the rim of the nest as evidenced in pictures. There is roughness around the inside rims. There is a chip in the tail as seen in pics. The finish appears to be what some call 'satin' or 'frosted'. The base is completely frosted and the lid (hen) is only frosted on the outside as seen in pics. I have no idea why this is. This piece is by no means in perfect condition, but is still pretty considering it is well over 100 years old. It is my understanding that the Greentown Glass factory opened in the 1880's and burnt down in approx 1903. So the age of this piece lies in that time period.The colour is amber.
