Description:
Presented for your consideration is this beautiful antique covered candy dish. The dish is crafted of white and blue milk glass and features a dog laying down on the top of the lid. The dog has a white head and the rest of his body is blue. The fur of the dog is painted a dark gold color. Nice, intricate detailing is present throughout the dog. The base of the dish has a rib design around the exterior with a scalloped top edge. Underside of the base has a starburst design. The lid easily comes off of the base and fits nicely on the base. Underside of the lid is marked with "2" and the inside bottom is marked with "5." Made by Westmoreland. Guaranteed to be old. Dates to the late 1880s. This neat covered dish would make a great addition to any Westmoreland, figural or art glass collection!
There are two small hairline cracks in the lid edge. No significant cracks. Free of chips. Some straw marks are visible. Typical light wear from age and use. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
Measures 5 1/4" wide, 4" deep and 4" tall (1 3/4" excluding the lid).
