    1873-CC Liberty Gold Eagle, NGC AU Details, Repaired.  The repair is on the obverse at 4 o'clock and to the left of the star.  It is a slight "dimple" and appears to be professionally repaired and blends nicely.  Retail is K in trouble-free AU-50 and skyrockets above that.  This is an attractive and extremely rare CC gold piece with very nice even color and original skin remaining.  The coin faces up very well.
    Experts say 55-65 coins are known to exist from a mintage of 4543 coins.  No uncirculated coins are known. PCGS total population is 55 coins with 18 coins equal to or greater than AU-50.  NGC population is 38 coins with 14 equal/greater than AU-50.  A good assumption is a number of these coins are re-submissions.   Write for higher resolution pictures or layaway options.
