This is one of the most sought-after, early Berliner gramophones, distinguished because of the "ratchet" winding system, as opposed to the superseding design of the hand crank on top of an externally mounted spring.  Very few of these were made and far fewer survive until this day.  This is an all-original, historical piece, having come from a knowledgeable and well-known collector that owned it for many years. It remains in fully functional operating condition.
